We had a great weekend. We spent the days before making spring lambs and a peep easter wreath. Nia keeps calling them cheep-chirps-cute, huh?
Saturday we went to the community egg-hunt at the high school baseball fields. They had them separated according to age, so Mike took Nia and I took Mae. We practiced the day before, teaching Mae to put the eggs in the basket. There were so many people that it was getting pretty tense, I could hear people strategizing...ridiculous! When they said go it was over in like 2 minutes. I ran out with Mae, set her down by an egg and she just stared at it. But she was happy when she discovered the candy inside. It reminded me of an insect infestation, they were destroying everything in their path! It was fun though. Nia managed to grab 6 or 7 eggs. We went and breakfasted at McDonalds then went home and relaxed till 11:30, when we went to see HOP. It was cute and the girls really liked it. They had fun riding on the mini merry-go-round there in the theatre, then we headed home to paint easter eggs.
We had baskets and a egg hunt for the girls sunday morning, then church at 1:30. We had a nice dinner of pigs in a blanket, deviled eggs, spinach salad, jello, potato chips, and sparkling grape juice. With the bunny cake for dessert. I have memories of Grandma Woodward making a bunny cake, and wanted to start that tradition. It was a great little weekend, and not forgetting the reason we celebrate. I'm not quite sure how to explain the atonement/resurrection to Nia yet, so we touched on it, but in future years I hope to make it more prominent.
Hope you all had a great weekend as well! (2 weeks ago now??)

Wow, looks like you guys had a super Easter! We did absolutely nothing! I guess we didn't want Connell to have any sugar and it's hard to do much with a sick baby. Oh well, there's always next year! So what is Nia holding in her hand? I can't really tell. Very cute Easter outfits. I love those sweaters! I think it's funny that Connell's hair was probably about as long as Nia's before we cut it! It's awesome they both have curly hair. Anyway, glad you guys had fun!
I don't know why, but I just barely saw this post come up on the side of my blog. So sorry for not commenting earlier! Sounds like you had a great time! And I love the bunny cake! Really cute. The girls look so cute in their outfits and it makes me miss them. We had a great visit with you and we should do it more often! Love ya! p.s. I just put the pennants up in the boys' room and it looks really cute!
Yes, little by little I will catch up and then put "present" pictures of what is going on, instead ofa year ago!! I LOVE the picture of Nia and Mae at the top of your blog. SO SO cute. I love Nia's curls and Mae's cute little smile! I hope you all are doing well. Are you guys moving from Rexburg or just needing a bigger place?
That is adorable. You are so crafty!
